got held up on the way to work today because there was a big snake trying to sun herself on the highway right on the way out of town & the lady in the grey subaru in front of me put her warning lights on & got out to try & shoo her into the grassy sunny verge on the other roadside. & it was afternoon and busy but the logging trucks stopped & waited & the family cars stopped & waited & the long haul truckers stopped & waited for that snake to cross the road. nobody so much as honked. & when the snake was safe the road was backed up in both directions but a fellow in a pickup truck waved at me to go ahead (i was waiting to turn right onto the highway) even though he could have made me wait until the whole long line of cars passed. what i am trying to say is: there is still love in this world. what i am trying to say is: happy pride to me & to that big old bull snake who will live to see another sunrise & to every person on that highway who decided that saving her was worth five minutes of delay

Local Wizard Goes To Store, Casts Duplicate On All The Items

aka I went to the antique mart this weekend and did a bunch of art studies in augmented reality! SUPER fun way to hone the ol 3D brush skills

nope, not usually! I tend to ask myself ‘am I allowed to take photos/videos in here with my phone?’, and if the answer is yes I just go for it.

the part where you can see my reflection in the mirror shows that the Magic Leap 2 isn’t especially bulky or weird-looking, so people either pay me no mind or they approach me with friendly curiosity!

in this particular case the store managers got really excited once I showed them what I was doing - they insisted we trade business cards so they could look at more of my work, and so they could share this video to their own socials! they invited me to come back anytime to do more art. :)

Someone asked me what my top three non-avian dinosaurs were and I got a little carried away!!

I like Microraptor gui because it was cute, I like Spinosaurus aegypticus because it was Badass and also quite special, and I like Kulindadromeus because it suggests feathers are a basal trait of all dinosaurs and that makes me VERY EXCITED (note: this doesn’t mean all dinosaurs had feathers, but it does mean there is a possibility they had a wide variety of integuments we have yet to discover!!)

And Carnotaurus sastrei gets an honorable mention because I think its angry eyebrow horns are cool and I love its chubby little nub arms.
